Sure you can still be mortgage free and be able to save on mortgage loans without living in a tepee or in a converted school bus. But this hardly is the solution to take if you want to avoid the slavery of paying mortgage loans.

It truly doesn't matter what all those naysayers tell you about how impossible it is to own your home and pay if off early; it's not true.

I'm sure the next question on your mind now is -- but how can you afford to pay off a mortgage in good time and still have the funds to take care of yourself and/or your family? As difficult and fearful as this seems, it's neither so difficult nor fearful.

It doesn't matter whether you have the funds for this or not, if you owe mortgage loans for a home, endeavor to repay the mortgage loans. Those who think paying off their home mortgage is all about bringing in thousands of extra dollars monthly are dead wrong. Rather, to be able to pay off your mortgage debt without tears entails a bit of planning, a little adjustment in your budget, and lots of determination.

Take it from me; it's absolutely possible for anyone to pay off their mortgage in as little as 5 or 10 years! Are you thinking this is a joke?

Of course not, all you need is to be willing to sacrifice and you can pay off your mortgage easily.

How can this be possible?

First things first, don't be like the others who spend their tax refunds on unnecessary expenses such as cars, boats and the likes. What should be done instead is to put the money towards your mortgage loans payment. You can cut off tens of thousands of dollars in years from your debt on your mortgage by just paying extra $50 to $100 monthly.

A reasonable thing to do is take a fishing trip closer home, rather than take one that's very far away from where you live. Instead of spending so much money traveling to Hawaii each year for your anniversary, pick a place closer so that you can save the extra.

Ladies can save a lot of money each month when they learn to do their spa treatments and pedicures or manicures themselves. The guys can save enough for their mortgage by simply giving up on weekly golfing; instead they should make it once a month so that the extra savings can be put towards paying off their mortgage loans.

As little as hundreds of dollars seem when compared to the huge mortgage loans, you will be surprised to learn that if consistently paid, these hundreds of dollars extra can cut off 6 years from your mortgage payments. To make your savings greater, just pay a little extra money anytime you have it. It'll be foolish to miss such opportunity.

Even those people that you think are very low wage earners can afford to save an extra $10 to $25 each month by cutting down on their habits of buying cigarettes, beer and others at Wal-Mart or Target. You can tell your lender that you want to increase your payments, if it's possible. Of course you can always go back to paying the old amount you were paying before.

It's a good way to use money if you put aside your tax refund for repaying your mortgage. Start a separate account that you will use for entertainment purposes and vacation purposes, and save money from eating out, wasteful spending, etc. Don't think this entails you to live like a monk; not at all -- instead this helps you to live moderately. I'm not saying you should stop your entertainment completely; just cut down on it a little. Don't go out each week; make it monthly instead.

If you don't know how to, it's recommended that you learn to be moderate in your expenses so that you can have the extra money each time to pay for your mortgage loans. Get out a calculator now and do the numbers. Tell me the person that won't want to save tens or even hundreds of dollars during the course of their mortgage?

Don't sell your life in the process of trying to own a home. All one needs to do is have the discipline to follow a budget, take charge by paying a little extra monthly; all these can help anyone pay off their mortgage loans within 5 to 10 years.
