What is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?
Illness:
Chronic fatigue immunodeficiency syndrome can be such a frustrating disease. For one thing, it is very resistant to the traditional ways of treatment. A lot of diagnosis maybe performed and all the orthodox methods of healing maybe carried out, and it still persists.
It is estimated that between 0.2% and 0.4% of the population have ME/CFS. The illness affects all social classes, ethnic groups, and is twice as common in women.
Some doctors have been sceptical as to whether ME/CFS exists as a real disease or is "all in the mind".
However, this controversy should have been effectively ended by a report from the Chief Medical Officer for England in 2002, which concluded that ME/CFS is a genuine and disabling condition.
Medically, differential diagnosis is performed to analyze the cause of the certain symptoms the patients with the chronic fatigue syndrome experiences. Since this is a rather eccentric disease, physicians have to use the elimination process to accurately make a diagnosis. And when they reach a working diagnosis, it means the most probable underlying disease has been identified. The doctors then, give the corresponding medications accordingly. But if the condition fails to improve despite the treatments given, the diagnosis has to be reconsidered.
Even today the methods for curing this condition are still being researched. As it stands there is no way of treating the syndrome into full recovery. Therefore the symptoms are treated individually one by one using many forms of therapy and treatment.
And because traditional medicines and techniques are cannot guarantee full treatment, alternative medicine capitalizes. With that, several unconventional methods are developed and performed. Fortunately, most of them are helpful in improving the patient's condition, as per the testimonials of patients who tried it.
Chelation and holistic therapies, coupled with herbal and nutritional supplements are said to work best in a patient with chronic fatigue syndrome. Although these methods are not totally recognized by the medical society, people opt for them, especially if they do make them feel better. When it comes to the chronic fatigue syndrome, recovery is somehow slow with traditional medicines, and so some patients are considering alternative healing instead.
Whichever method one uses to heal ones self, its important to remeber that you must go for regular check ups for your doctor and keep on with whichever treatment you decide to follow. If one treatment doesnt work be strong and move on to the next, but whatever happens do not give up as you will not be able to self heal by doing nothing.
