Considerations For Your New Bathroom

There are a number of things you need to think about when you begin to remodel your bathroom in addition to the decoration and style that you want to have in it. You should draw out a floor plan of what you want your bathroom to look like before you start remodeling so you do not change your mind in the middle of the project.

You should consider whether you want a more traditional bathroom with a shower and bathtub combination or a shower and bathtub that will operate independently of each other in two different sections of the room.

Shower systems with massage heads can be installed for one of the best bathing experiences ever, but you can also purchase a Jacuzzi or a tub fitted with air jets that some would consider much more fulfilling and romantic. Depending on your budget, you could get a tub that would accommodate two people, but this can get expensive.

The next important thing in your bathroom will be the toilet that you choose to install. There are many different styles and colors of toilets to choose from, but most people go with simple white rather than getting complicated. You can make your bathroom a little more unique, however, by finding a toilet that suits your own personal taste.

A dual flush toilet will also save you money on your water bill at the end of the month, since it has two different flushing options. Two different amounts of water will be used depending on which button you press.

The most important feature of your bathroom, however, is the flooring. The kind of flooring that you install will be very important and will last a great many years, as long as you install it correctly. Whether you install ceramic tile, travertine, slate, or any other hard flooring in your bathroom, this is really the only kind of material that is acceptable for bathroom floor use.

Installing carpet is most certainly not an efficient or practical idea, since the bathroom floor will be wet at least once or twice a day. Carpet absorbs moisture and it will begin to smell after a while and need to be cleaned.

You can put down rugs over a hard surfaced floor if you want something more comfortable to step on, because these are easily cleaned, but carpet is much more difficult to deal with and will need to be replaced every few years.
