When using basil to add flavour to cooking, make sure it is added at the last minute as the flavour is destroyed as it cooks.

Storage of Fresh Basil

If time permits, blanch fresh basil quickly before storing in plastic bags in the freezer or fridge. It will keep for a short time by simply sealing the basil in plastic and keeping it in the fridge.
