This way, they may move around more freely - especially useful in case they want to concentrate the tan on certain areas of their bodies only. Like their horizontal counterparts, the clamshell beds, vertical cabins must also be cleaned and checked regularly.

3. Standalone facial tanners. Some dermatological clinics have standalone facial tanners for medical purposes. These portable machines focus the UV light on the facial area. And since the face is a sensitive body part, many of them come with a cooling system that allows the face to stay cool while being tanned. Make sure to keep the fans clean and unobstructed.

For any type of tanning gear, you must of course make sure to replace bulbs when they have reached their life expectancy. The estimated amount of hours a brand-new bulb has should be indicated on its box - be sure to keep track of when a replacement is due. Waiting for the bulbs to grow obviously dim before replacing them may seem practical, but while the bulbs are growing dim, you are also missing out on a good tan! Keep a stock of replacement parts, such as bulbs, ballasts and starters, handy in case of emergencies.
